The Student Services Accounts & Partners@3rd Associate serves as a key point of contact for students, families, faculty, and the public, responding to general inquiries and aiding with registration, billing, and class attendance. This associate is responsible for the registration database, enrollment, billing and related tasks. They also perform general administrative duties and work on special projects in support of the goals of the Student Services Department.

In 1894, Third Street was founded by Emilie Wagner, an arts education pioneer who made music education the cornerstone of a settlement house that welcomed immigrants to NYC and provided families with housing support, food, and medical care alongside arts enrichment. This associate is responsible for the registration database, enrollment, billing and related tasks. They also perform general administrative duties and work on special projects in support of the goals of the Student Services Department.
Student Services Duties
- Process student enrollment, attendance, account adjustments and withdrawals/refunds
- Generate billing, collection, and financial letters
- Serve as parent contact for billing (including enrollment/management of automatic payments)
- Follow up on collections
- Setup database (course creation, calendar prep, update offerings) for online registration
- Run database queries and preliminary reports
- Monitor data for accuracy and tracking (data cleanup)
- Audit reporting
- Awareness of opportunities for deeper engagement for incoming and returning students
- Transcribe preschool contracts from School Admin
- Participate in management and maintenance of financial aid
- Place students in offerings following Open House
- Input and maintain student information in database
- Act as family liaison: serve as point of entry and guide families through registration casework and phone calls
- Coordinate efforts to more effectively engage and retain students in all stages of the program
- Lead response and resolution to P@3 queries and issues
- Provide clerical and administrative office support
- Relieve receptionist for breaks
- Act as weekend receptionist
- Greet and assist visitors
- Open, close and maintain reception area
- Distribute studio keys and documents to faculty/staff
- Bring mail to post office/mailbox
- Answer phones, field questions, and direct calls
- Bachelor’s degree or relative experience
- Bookkeeping experience and capacity to maintain financial records
- Strong customer service experience and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, to listen to and engage people of various backgrounds and to maintain a professional demeanor at all times
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands
- Ability to draft and edit correspondence
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office
